Manito Equestrian Center Lessons

Manito's year round lesson program concentrates on safe and thorough instruction for students interested in dressage, hunt seat, western, or recreational riding. Every discipline is taught with an emphasis on the balanced seat. We have three riding instructors on staff, each one bringing their own diverse and knowledgeable background to the lesson program. Manito's unique approach to instruction includes teaching the basics of horse care, safety, and stable management in addition to riding. Our goal is to help all of our students become not only wonderful riders, but also well rounded, accomplished equestrians. Our lessons are taught in the ring, out in our expansive fields, and on the trails. Our program is designed to build self confidence and self esteem in our students, and (most of all) to have fun!

Manito Virtual Clinics

We have created a virtual clinic series so that you can continue your horse education at home. These clinics are designed to introduce you to disciplines and concepts that will expand your knowledge as a rider that you can apply when you return for your regular lessons. Our first clinic features Sardes Rock of Love and is An Introduction to the Western Morgan. The clinic can be purchased for $20.00 by selecting the Virtual Clinic button on the left side panel of this page. Once purchased, a link will be emailed to the purchaser to view. Please allow 24 hours for the link to be sent. If you have any problems or questions, please email aliciapramik@gmail.com.

Manito Mini Lessons

Mini lessons are introductory 15 minute lessons designed for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Lessons include a short grooming exercise prior to riding.

Commonly Asked Questions:

Q) Do I need my own horse to take lessons?
A) No you do not! Here at Manito we have wonderful lesson horses, ranging in suitability from beginner to advanced. Some of our lesson students do have their own horses which they are, of course, allowed and encouraged to ride in their lessons.

Q) What equipment do I need to start lessons?
A) You will need an ASTM-SEI certified helmet (which we have on site in our tack shop or you can borrow one of ours), sturdy boots with a heel, and long pants.

Q) What if I have never ridden before?
A) Now is a great time to start! We have instructors that specialize in teaching beginner riders, whether they are children or adults. You will learn from the ground up how to lead a horse correctly, groom, tack up, and ride, all in a fun, safe atmosphere.

Q) How do I sign up?
A) If you are interested in taking lessons with us, please call us at (610) 433-3707 to schedule a lesson or email us.

Q) Are semi private or group lessons available?
A) We offer Semi Private and Group lessons for existing students that are riding at an advanced level. Approval from a Manito instructor is required to enroll in Semi Private or Group lessons.

Q) How old do you have to be to start riding lessons?
A) We start teaching children as young as three years old, with the goal being to familiarize them with horses early on. You are never too young or too old to develop a love for horses!

Q) What are Mini Lessons?
A) Mini lessons are a great way to introduce young children to horseback riding. Each session includes a short grooming activity and is an excellent option for younger students.

Q) Will I be able to show at Manito?
A) Yes! We offer on-site shows throughout the year that cater to all levels of riding.

Q) What forms of payments are accepted?
A) We accept cash, check, or via PayPal we accept Visa, Master Card, and Discover Card.
